FAQs

Where is the convention being held?
The Convention is being held at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre, Cnr Gold Coast Highway & TE Peters Drive, Broadbeach Qld 4218.

When is the Convention being held?
The Convention will run from Sunday 8 November to Wednesday 11
November 2009.

What is the Conference dress code?
The following dress code is recommended:

  • Welcome Reception - casual
  • Business Sessions - business casual
  • Gala Dinner -“Very GC”

Do I need to pre-select which sessions I attend?
Yes, please complete the registration form indicating which streams you plan to attend each day.

Stream A focuses on management/operational issues. Stream B focuses on governance issues. Stream C, a new addition for 2009, will run on Wednesday 11 November only and focuses on issues relevant to small credit unions and building societies.

The Emerging Leader program is an interactive workshop style program. As such, delegates registering as Emerging Leaders will be required to attend all the EL sessions.

When does registration close?
You can register online or by faxing the registration form to the Convention Secretariat until Wednesday 4 November 2009. After this time, you will need to register onsite at the Convention Registration Desk at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Registration Desk will be open from 10am on Sunday 8 November 2009.

Should I have received a confirmation letter?
Yes, once you register for the convention, you will receive a confirmation letter within seven (7) business days, this will summarise all necessary information on your participation at the Convention including your accommodation booking. If you have any specific queries about the Convention, please call the Convention Secretariat on +61 2 9436 0232.

What happens if I am unable to attend and need to cancel my registration?
Cancellation received in writing to the Convention Secretariat no later than COB Friday 25 September 2009 will incur a $100 cancellation fee. Cancellations received after this time will receive no refund, however, a replacement delegate can be sent with no penalty.

Cancellations of accommodation must be submitted in writing to the Convention Secretariat before Friday 25 September 2009. Accommodation deposits will NOT be refunded on or after Friday 25 September 2009.

Delegates who confirm attendance and provide credit card details but do not advise of cancellation before the 30 day period of conference commencement will incur charges for the 'no-show' rate, as penalised by the hotel. This charge is calculated as the room rate per night multiplied by the dates booked and secured. Please ensure that the accommodation dates are correct on your registration.
