Abacus 2010 - the mutual sector’s premier annual event.

Abacus 2010 will take place from 16-20 October 2010, as mutuals look to the future with our theme “New Decade, New Directions”. Delegates can look forward to an especially warm ‘credit union’ welcome in our host city of Adelaide, the capital of our strongest state for credit union membership and profile.

A reception on Sunday starts the official program, with educational business sessions from Monday to Wednesday on industry, innovation and market issues.

Speakers include David Phillips (CEO Credit Union Central Canada), Paul Clitheroe, Jonty Bush (2009 Young Australian of the Year), Andrew Inwood (brandmanagement), Chris Hamilton (CEO APCA), regulators and industry leaders. Other features include ‘need to know’ updates on regulatory change, a small mutuals master class (in consultation with SAM), and the well regarded Emerging Leaders program (linking to the Bridges Emerging Leader Award).

Of course, we will also take time to enjoy the hospitality of Adelaide, famous for fine food and wine and its proximity to wonderful countryside and coastline. On Saturday Abacus will host a ‘Day at the Races’ for Caulfield Cup day at the Alan Scott Park, Morphettville. Our annual golf tournament returns on Sunday thanks to Bridges and Data Action – be sure to register early for this popular event. Our closing function on Wednesday night will be a gala event, supported
by CGU.
